5 Tiny Shifts That Changed My Life (And Might Change Yours Too)
Not every transformation is loud.
Not every breakthrough makes it to Instagram.
Some of the biggest changes in my life didn’t come from quitting everything or reinventing myself overnight.
They came from tiny shifts.
Subtle, powerful decisions that started quietly—and reshaped everything.
These are five of those shifts. Maybe one of them is the nudge you need, too.
1. I Stopped Measuring My Worth by My Productivity
For most of my life, I measured my value by output.
How much I got done.
How busy I looked.
How quickly I responded, produced, achieved.
But all that did was run me into burnout—over and over.
The shift?
I stopped treating my to-do list like a scoreboard.
Now, I ask:
Did I honor my energy today?
Did I stay true to what matters most?
Did I take aligned action—not just urgent action?
That shift changed how I work, rest, and live.
And it’s why I created The Opt-Out Club—for women ready to stop chasing and start choosing.
2. I Started Listening to My Intuition (Even When It Wasn’t Logical)
As a high-achiever and recovering people pleaser, I was trained to look outside myself for answers.
What’s the best practice?
What does the research say?
What do they think I should do?
The shift?
I started listening inward—especially when the logical choice didn’t feel right.
Now, I pause before I plan.
I check in before I check off.
And I’ve made some of my best decisions by trusting the quiet nudge instead of the loud “should.”

3. I Let Rest Become Part of the Process (Not the Emergency Exit)
I used to treat rest like a reward—or worse, a breakdown point.
But now?
Rest is part of how I work.
It’s part of how I create.
It’s part of how I stay connected to myself.
Sometimes that means spending half a morning playing cozy games.
Not because I “earned” it—because it supports my physical, emotional, and creative well-being.
That time isn’t wasted.
It’s restorative.
And ironically? It makes me far more productive than pushing ever did.
If you need help unlearning the guilt around rest, my 7-Day Slow Living Challenge is a soft, supportive place to start.
4. I Built My Business Around My Capacity, Not Just My Goals
There’s a big difference between what you can do and what’s actually sustainable.
I used to plan from the top down: “What’s the goal? How do I get there?”
Now, I start from the inside out:
What do I actually have the capacity for right now?
What feels aligned—not forced?
This shift means:
I work when I want to, not when I “should”
I follow energy, not guilt
I create lists of things I’d love to do—but only follow through when the timing feels right
It’s softer. Slower. Saner.
And so much more effective.
5. I Stopped Waiting to Feel Ready
This one was hard.
As a perfectionist, I thought I had to have everything figured out before I could start.
The right branding. The perfect message. The 10-step plan.
But the shift?
I gave myself permission to move forward without certainty.
I realized that action builds clarity—not the other way around.
Now, I make room to evolve.
To shift course.
To grow and change without needing everything set in stone.
And every time I take a step, I remind myself:
Progress matters more than polish.
And forward is a direction—even if it’s slow.
Final Thoughts: Change Doesn’t Have to Be Dramatic
You don’t need a 90-day challenge or a complete overhaul.

One new question.
One choice to honor what feels true.
If you’re ready to try that?

Because the big life you want to build?
It starts with small moves that feel like you.
